Admissions & Fees

Brillkidz EdVenture offers childcare for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-agers. A security deposit is required before care begins, with flexible options based on subsidy eligibility.

Age Requirements

At Brillkidz EdVenture, we cater to the care and education of children across various age groups. Our program accommodates:

Infants: Ages 3 months to less than 12 months.

Toddlers: Ages 12 months to less than 24 months (up to 4 children).

Preschoolers: Ages 24 months to less than 5 years (up to 6 children).

School-agers: Ages 5 years to less than 11 years (up to 4 children).

Security Deposit and Tuition

Once your child has been accepted into Brillkidz EdVenture Family Childcare and Preschool, a security deposit is required before their first day of care. For parents eligible for subsidies, the deposit is equal to one month's subsidy portion of your fees. This deposit is refundable upon the final subsidy payment for your child, provided proper notice is given before terminating care, and there are no outstanding fees. Failure to provide proper notice or having outstanding fees will result in the non-refundability of the deposit. For parents without subsidy eligibility, the deposit is equal to half of the monthly fees for your child's care. This enrollment fee secures your child's spot and is nonrefundable. Childcare services commence only after the deposit is paid. If your child does not start care by the agreed-upon date, the space will be forfeited, and the deposit will be non-refundable. Tuition is due on the first class day of each week, and you will receive a Payment Packet during your tour to select the most suitable tuition package for your family. Please ensure timely payment and consider using our school app or WeeCare for payments. Late payments, received after Monday's close, will be considered late, potentially resulting in unenrollment if not resolved by the 7th day. If you face financial challenges, kindly contact the Director to discuss their impact on tuition. Thank you for your cooperation in adhering to our security deposit and tuition policies.

Refunds

At Brillkidz Edventure Preschool, we prioritize delivering exceptional care and education for your child's development. We require a yearly registration fee upon enrollment to secure your child's spot for the entire school year (September to May). This fee supports program supplies, curriculum development, nutritious meals, and snacks. Notably, tuition fees apply consistently, irrespective of your child's regular attendance, with very limited exceptions. We allocate resources and staff to your child's education, enabling us to maintain program quality. Regrettably, due to our program's nature and commitment to every enrolled child, we do not provide tuition fee credits or refunds. We appreciate your trust in us and look forward to another year of growth and development together.

Waiting List

Our waiting list operates on a first-come, first-served basis, with consideration given to maintaining a balanced age range and gender distribution within the group. To secure a spot on the waiting list, parents must submit completed registration forms along with the required fees. Placement on the waiting list does not guarantee immediate enrollment. Openings are filled based on availability and the order in which children were added. However, we prioritize maintaining a balanced age range and gender distribution when making admissions from the waiting list. We encourage prompt submission of registration forms and fees to enhance your child's chances of enrollment. We will keep you informed of any updates regarding your child's enrollment status. Thank you for your cooperation in adhering to our waiting list policy.

Trial Period and Termination Policy

The first 10 days of care at Brillkidz Edventure Family Childcare and Preschool constitute a trial period, commencing on the first actual day of care. During this period, both the provider and the parent/guardian are responsible for addressing concerns or dissatisfaction. Either party may terminate care within 24 hours of providing notice during the trial period. Please note that security deposits are non-refundable if services are terminated during this period. After the trial period, if a parent/guardian wishes to withdraw their child, a two-week written notice is required before the intended withdrawal. Alternatively, parents may opt to pay two weeks' fees in lieu of notice. Termination notices are not accepted while the provider or parents are on vacation.

In exceptional circumstances, the provider may provide a two-week notice to cease caring for a child. In severe cases involving significant problems, the provider may terminate care without notice. Termination without notice may occur for reasons such as consistent child unhappiness or discomfort, harm to other children, routine abuse of drop-off/pick-up times, late payment of fees, failure to complete required forms, inability to meet the child's needs without additional staff, blatant disrespect, or knowingly bringing an ill child to the facility.

Child Abuse/Neglect

As childcare providers, we have a legal and moral obligation to report all instances of child abuse and neglect. We prioritize the safety and well-being of every child in our care and will not ignore any form of abuse or neglect.

Separation Anxiety

If your child experiences separation anxiety during drop-off, we kindly ask that you say goodbye quickly, similar to removing a Band-Aid. Most children will calm down within a few minutes and engage in the classroom routine, ultimately becoming excited about attending school each day.

Immunizations

Within 14 days of attendance, each child must have either an up-to-date immunization record or a signed exemption form on file.

Snow Days

In the event that the Your School District closes due to inclement weather; our facility will also be closed. Please note that there are no refunds for snow days, regardless of their frequency.

Emergencies

Should an emergency necessitate sending children home before class ends, we will contact parents via text to arrange pickup. If a person other than the parents picks up the child, we will inform the parents of the child's whereabouts.

Injuries

Although our staff provides close supervision, minor accidents can still occur. Our trained teachers are equipped to perform first aid and CPR when needed. Most school injuries are minor, and parents are notified of such injuries at pickup. In the event of a major injury, parents will be informed as soon as the child receives appropriate medical care.

"24-Hour Symptom-Free Illness Rule"

We encourage parents to keep children at home when they are sick. Notify the Director if your child is exposed to or contracts a contagious disease, or if a family member has lice or hand/foot/mouth disease. Children exhibiting symptoms such as watery diarrhea, vomiting, strep throat, eye discharge, fever, lice or nits, severe coughing, skin rash, inconsolable crying, uncontrolled nasal discharge, infected skin patches, or inability to participate in class activities should not attend school. Hand/foot/mouth disease requires clearance by the Director before returning. Ill children will be separated from the group until pickup.

Clothing

Children should wear play-appropriate clothing and dress according to the weather, including jackets, coats, and appropriate shoes. Sunscreen should be applied as needed, or you may provide it for staff to apply. Supplies for InfantsParents with infants are asked to provide and maintain a supply of diapers (cloth or disposable), baby wipes, and preferred breast milk or infant formula.

Potty Training

Full potty training is not required, and children should bring a change of clothes in their backpacks just in case. Parents are welcome to volunteer and participate in these celebrations. Parents may bring store-bought holiday treats to share with the class, fostering a sense of community and fun.

BIRTHDAYS: We cherish the opportunity to celebrate your child's birthday with them. For summer birthdays, we take the celebration outdoors to our outdoor classroom. During your child's birthday week:

Parents are encouraged to bring a store-bought treat for the class to enjoy. We recommend options like Rice Krispie treats or cookies, as they are easy for children to handle.

While cupcakes are welcome, they can sometimes be challenging for young children to eat without creating a mess. We aim to make these celebrations enjoyable and memorable for everyone.

ASSESSMENTS FOR AGES 3-5 YEARS: We are committed to tracking and promoting your child's development during their time with us. To achieve this, we conduct both formal and informal assessments throughout the year, focusing on their emotional, social, physical, language, and cognitive skills. WHAT DID MY CHILD DO TODAY? We understand that parents are curious about their child's day at preschool. Children often respond with a simple "Play!" when asked about their day. Play is a fundamental part of learning for young children. To gain more insight into your child's day, consider asking them specific questions like:

  • What songs did you sing today?

  • Can you tell me about the book you read?

  • What snack did you enjoy?

  • What activities did you participate in on the playground?

  • Did you make any new friends during centers?

These prompts can help spark conversation and provide you with a better understanding of your child's preschool experience.

REFERRAL CREDITS: We value the trust and support of our preschool families. To show our appreciation, we offer a $50 referral credit to families who have graduated from our program. This credit is awarded when you refer a new family to us, and they enroll their child in Brillkidz Edventure Preschool. We are grateful for your confidence in our program.

"NO" POLICIES: To maintain a safe and conducive learning environment, we have implemented specific policies:

No Smoking: Smoking is prohibited anywhere on our property to ensure a healthy and smoke-free environment for children and families. No

Pets: To prevent any potential risks or allergies, pets are not allowed on our premises. This policy helps us maintain a safe and pet-free environment for all.

EHAVIOR AND DISCIPLINE: At Brillkidz Edventure Preschool, we understand that preschool is a place of happiness and learning, and children, being children, may require guidance in understanding and following appropriate behavior. We have established a three-tiered approach to behavior management to ensure a positive and nurturing environment for all children:

MINOR BEHAVIOR CONCERNS: The majority of behavioral issues that arise in our preschool are minor in nature and are addressed within the school setting. In these instances, there may not be a need for direct communication with parents. Our Conflict Resolution Process involves the following steps:

Monitoring: We closely observe the situation to determine if the children can resolve the issue among themselves.

Offering Words: If the conflict persists, we offer children the appropriate words and guidance to help them communicate and find a resolution.

Redirection: If the conflict continues, we gently redirect the children to another activity, diffusing the situation and allowing them to engage in a different positive activity.

NOT IMPROVING BEHAVIOR CONCERNS: In some cases, a child may continue to exhibit challenging behavior despite multiple opportunities for improvement. If these behaviors are still considered minor, teachers will initiate contact with parents to collaborate on finding solutions that can be implemented both at home and at school. Additionally, a meeting may be scheduled between the teacher, the Director, and the parents to establish a Behavior Plan tailored to the specific needs of the child. Behaviors that may lead to such a meeting include but are not limited to:

A child's conduct that poses a risk to themselves or others.

Intentional destruction of property.

Disruptive behavior that hinders the full participation or benefit of class activities for others.

SERIOUS BEHAVIOR CONCERNS: Brillkidz Edventure Preschool is committed to maintaining a safe and positive environment for all children and staff. In exceptional circumstances, we reserve the right to immediately terminate enrollment based on the following grounds:

  • Late or non-payment of tuition.

  • A parent's adoption of an adversarial role with any member of Brillkidz Edventure Preschool or its families.

  • A child's demonstration of dangerous or uncontrollable behavior that compromises safety.

  • A child causing harm, endangerment, or distress to any member of Brillkidz Edventure Preschool or its families.

  • Inappropriate behavior or actions by parents within the school environment or on school grounds. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of vulgar, abusive, dangerous, or sexually suggestive language or actions.

  • Any other actions by the enrolled child or family that the Director deems unacceptable.

  • It is important to note that termination for any of these reasons does not entitle the family to any reimbursement of monies paid.

MISSED CLASSES: We understand that occasional situations may lead to missed school days for your child. Our policy allows for up to 2 missed school days per class per school year due to teacher sickness. In the event that we miss class for 3 or more days, we will refund your tuition at a prorated daily rate for each day beyond the second missed day.

OPEN COMMUNICATION: Effective communication between our preschool and families is essential to ensure a successful and enjoyable learning experience for your child. We take pride in our commitment to open communication. Please feel free to reach out to the Director with any questions, concerns, or feedback. You can contact us through text, email, or phone at 763-316-7341. We are here to support you, and we look forward to making this school year a fun and enriching experience for your child.

Approximately half of our field trips are free of charge, while the remaining may have a nominal additional cost, usually under $10 per person.
